Societal, economic, environmental and personal risk must be considered when projecting conditions in the next 30-40 years. The following map of exposures to coming risks, from the standpoint of New Canaan, should be considered:

These risk are not to be seen in isolation but should be viewed as interconnected occurrences:
Conditions that currently prevail are primarily exposed to climate actions and to extreme weather. Redundant police, fire protection, power or heat are in place as protection. The existing community offers sufficient safeguards.
None of the other risks, such as social instability, governance failures, fiscal crises or technology failures are present at this time.
