044. New Canaan Community Demographics is not Stable

The New Canaan population is clustered around school age children and 50+ year old residents.

Children do not stay in New Canaan, although they have consumed over 60% of taxes at the costs of over $20,000 per child (which is greater than tuition at the CT State University!).

This  age distribution is inherently unstable, suggesting a high real estate turnover rate and less than five year residency for half of the New Canaan population.

The highly promoted idea that New Canaan represents highly stable demographics does not seem to hold up.
